Together & Europe

We are all entrepreneurs

The youth exchange “We are all entrepreneurs” brought together people from six different countries – Czech Republic, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Poland and Lithuania. The main topic of this project was entrepreneurship and employability – how to develop ideas and ways how youth can design their own jobs and become entrepreneurs. With rising youth unemployement we focused also on how to successfully enter the job market – how to write CV or succeed at a job interview.

Nowadays, many young people tend to be very passive, waiting for the others to offer them solutions for their own life. We believe entrepreneurship is an alternative. It is an active way of life which we tried to promote. Aim of this youth exchange was to contribute to the development of youth entrepreneurship and generally creative activity of young people, to develop their skills, information and knowledge necessary in order to realize that they can become young entrepreneurs.

In our opinion, entrepreneurship is not only from the business point of view. Entrepreneurship also has a social aspect which is often neglected. It can include the dynamic NGO sector, art or sport entrepreneurship etc. Aim of this project was to empower young people, motivate them to take an active role in their lives and in the lives of their local community. We see young entrepreneurs as people who decide to turn their ideas into action, to build something, to be active citizens.

One of the main objectives of the youth exchange was to inspire young people to take a more pro-active and entrepreneurial approach. We believe it is important for young people not only to see problems around themselves, but also to look for solutions. Entrepreneurship means for us the ability to identify the needs and problems of the communities, look for solutions and eventually also try to turn some of their ideas into concrete actions.

Methodology of this exchange was very diverse. Young people had the opportunity to discuss various topics and issues related to entrepreneurship. They discussed for example profile of a successful entrepreneur and his characteristics. They developed their own business ideas and had a competition in front of a jury. Participants also discovered project management and generally how Youth in Action Programme works.
