Grundtvig Workshop «Make a better world»

Subject area: Active citizenship
Addressing target groups with special needs

Working language(s): English

Target Group:The workshop will be open to people of all ages, gender, culture, faith and educational background who are interested in taking an active position within our European society and who have the will to learn or improve their knowledge about the European Union. The workshop is also targeted at adult learners interested in the concept of Europe and active in Non-Governmental organisations.

The main activities of the workshop will include various simulation and role games, discussions in small groups and in plenary sessions, structured debates, visits to NGOs and organizations, debates with policy-makers, exchange of experience, etc. All these activities are chosen from the pool of non-formal education methods and each of them will be followed by a brief reflection in order to ensure that the participants are aware of their learning achievements. These activities will allow the adult learners to develop specific skills, competences and attitudes regarding the global challenges that we are facing nowadays, such as environment and ecology, poverty and social exclusion, human rights, interreligious and intercultural dialogue, climate changes and global warming as well as the economic crisis and its impact on the European Union and its member states. The workshop will offer an innovative international learning experience which promotes global citizenship among European adult learners.
