About Be IN Campaign

Be IN Campaign aims to bring together youth organisations and young people from 23 countries of Europe to develop ambitious European youth information and reaching out campaign.

This campaign encourages youth participation in public affairs, promotes European citizenship, cultural diversity, volunteering and international mobility and informs young people about the Youth in Action programme and other opportunities to participate. The project aims to increase the access of young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, to quality information.

The symbol of the project is the Youth in Action sailing boat, decorated with the Youth in Action logo and with young Europeans on board. It is travelling to 30 European harbours and participates in various regattas to race for the European values and increase the visibility of the project. It is accompanied by the Youth in Action minibus.

In each of the participating countries, there is a national project team consisting of 20-50 young people who implement the campaign and the project. We prioritize the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities.

Representatives of the project teams have participated in three international seminars - the Kick-off Seminar in Luxembourg in March 2011, the European Youth Information Meeting in Metz, France in September 2011, organised for 69 young people and the final Evaluation Conference in Luxembourg in September 2012.

The main aim of the project is to implement a European youth information and reaching out campaign.

The products of the campaign are being developed by young people themselves. The Youth in Action TV broadcasts on the Internet videos from various Youth in Action projects, thematic videos and interviews about topics of the campaign. The Multimedia Library collects videos, presentation, newsletters and other multimedia materials from various Youth in Action projects. The Together Magazine brings articles from young people from all corners of Europe. All the products of the campaign are being published at the Internet portal that also contains additional articles, links and sections about youth information, youth and media as well as the topics of the campaign. Youth information using traditional methods are not efficient in attracting young people with fewer opportunities. We use intensively social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to share information within the campaign.

We involve almost 700 young people as active participants in this project, who are implementing the European youth information campaign and are participating in the activities of the project. The project brings these young people closer to media and political representatives and encourage their participation. It also contributes to their personal and social development, and increases their employability.
